Thanks for sharing, Kyle. I can relate to this nonlinear creative path — What we expect for ourselves isn't always how things unfold. I appreciated hearing your story! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next. Take care!
I liked reading your story, Kyle. I feel old sometimes and uninspired, but then I read stories like yours that may not mirror mine exactly but show me all the highs and lows of my journey - which has been VERY non-linear as well. Thank you for sharing!
What a great surprise, you visited Finland! Here I am, in Finland, reading about you writing about Finland. 😁 This was such a fresh POV, and truly made me ponder... Maybe it's so that we've so saturated with the thought of always moving forward, that taking a time off feels always a mistake. I'm so glad you're currently in a good place with your work.
Thank you! Finland was great to visit, although the trip was too short. Looking forward to visiting again. It reminded me of my home in Ontario, Canada.
Thanks so much for sharing your story, Kyle. Acknowledging the messiness of the creative process is something I really struggle with and I never seen to be content with where I am in the moment which is something I am really working on. Also super interesting hearing about your background in broadcast television. I currently work in that industry and always feel like a side-step or different career is impossible but you are clearly proof that that isn't the case.
Great share, appreciated 🙌🏽. That’s life in general, isn’t it, if we can take a moment and think about it. We always want to be assured beforehand, but that’s rarely the reality. Best case? Embrace uncertainty, realise, like you say, we’ll figure it out along the way. But we have to start 🍻
40 years in the design world, and it wasn’t till I embraced the messiness that I got good at it. Whether it’s a career or a single project, I find it’s when we fully accept the non-linear into our lives that we start thinking freely enough to truly “create”, and dare I say it, to enjoy what we’re doing (despite the inevitable frustrations)
Thanks for always putting forward the inspiring stuff about your process and your life journey!
Very well put, Bruce. I agree with you. Been a constant challenge for me. There are definitely times when I try to force things too much. Always trying to remind myself to embrace the process!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. Thank you for sharing your story!
I love this line especially:"Some things can be figured out beforehand, but for the most part, the answer comes from the doing. I try to remind myself of that often."
I really enjoyed that lie story of your journey so far. Thank you for sharing it and the guidance at the end really is what I needed at the moment. Thanks again
An impressive career and such an interesting time to be alive where your audience gets to be so close to your journey and the experiences Thanks!
Thanks for reading, Jeremy. 🙏

Cheers, Rick. It’s a constant challenge for me as well, and I have to remind myself often that things aren’t supposed to be perfect and predictable!
Thank you for articulating these! They resonate so much with my journey so far!
Excellent post, Kyle. Thinking about getting a medium-format film camera.
